Yes 2024 has been totally different to the past twenty years say!

Why is that you ask?
Well for people who know me or at least know a little bit about me, twenty years is how long I have been a postie at Royal Mail. Finally, after wanting to leave for what seems like a lifetime (or at least 10 – 13 years approx.) yes I know that sounds dramatic but that’s how long I’ve wanted to leave and how long it took me to pluck up the courage to actually do it. It’s funny how things work out isn’t it and after a few spells of being off sick, (I’d come to realise my job was making me ill) going back to work one Friday morning the Universe decided to kick me into action….

So how did it do that?
It made my job so unbearable for me it made me walk straight back out the door with Stress for two and a half months….
For the posties out there or people who know a little about what the job entails I had my round taken away from me and more or less told me you’re back as a floater (a postie who covers any round that needs covering due to sick leave, holiday or as Royal Mail is most of the time ‘short-staffed’). I was not happy as you’ve probably worked out, especially as some posties never get moved onto other duties and stay on the same one day in day out which isn’t fair for posties like I was being moved and there’s nothing you can do about it ‘Business needs’ they say!!
Anyway, when I walked out of that door going on the Stress I knew enough was enough being treated this way after me working for Royal Mail for 20 years and this is how they repaid me, I knew I wasn’t ever going back and was determined to find another job!!
So, in my two and a half months of what felt like I’d semi-retired, I was job searching and eventually got an interview for a retail job at Costcos in Stevenage, Hertfordshire working on the Bakery. It is totally different to Royal Mail being a postie but at least my Manager and Supervisor actually care, they didn’t at Royal Mail (Posties reading this will understand that, all the Managers are interested in is getting the parcels out, they aren’t always bothered about the letters would you believe but all they think about is parcels!!).
So now I’ve gone back to full-time (I was part-time as a Postie) I’m having to find time to get back to doing my blogging and hopefully some Podcasts as well, but I love making my key-rings and fridge magnets which will be on sale on Payhip when my new shop is properly set up and finished (More details on that coming soon!)
Plus if you follow me on Instagram you would have seen my latest Story, and on that I mentioned me starting up a ‘ Free Community Chat Group’ (an alternative to a free facebook group) which will be up and running hopefully very soon for all things Spiritual x
(I will talking about that in more detail when it’s up and running).
Thanks for reading this blog post, as always it means a lot that you do.
