Hi everyone, hope you're managing to keep cool in this scorcher of heat at the moment? I know it's not good for people to have to be out in it for too long, 😎 as I'm a Postlady in my part-time job, & my colleague who works with me in a van share threw up while we were delivering today after the heat getting to him, bless him, so not good. 🥵
Today I thought I'd talk about how I got started & how 'The Spiritual Cabin' was born!
Well, when I first started I was 'Crafts Quirky By Sally' as I was more into making crafts back then, at least 3 or 4 years ago. I used to weave pictures or mats on a weaving loom, I loved doing it at the time but something was missing, my passion was there for a while but I thought I can't make a living out of this as it takes too long to make anything.

Gradually I got the blogging bug, as when I was a teenager I used to write short stories (well I say short, but I can talk a lot so they become longer) I've always been creative! I also loved chatting & recording my voice on my little grey tape recorder (which I have mentioned in another podcast episode) back in the 80's I did with my best friend at the time. We did have a laugh doing that, playing it back to listen to it was hilarious 😆
So this could have been the very early stages of podcasting who knows!!
When I first started blogging I was 'Crafty Chat' combined with my first website 'Quirky Creativity' hoping to do blogging & making my crafts, but I got stuck on doing blog posts about crafting, then I had writer's block & couldn't make my crafts quick enough to be a success..... there was still something missing....
Then I thought, after a long hard time of thinking & thinking it dawned on me. I love blogging so I would keep doing that but I could have a go at Podcasting. I researched what was the best platform to use & I chose 'Anchor FM' after hearing someone I trusted recommend it so I started recording my podcasts having each episode as a blog post as well, giving my followers or readers the option of listening or reading.
As I have a log cabin in my back garden I came up with the 'Spiritual Quirky Creative Cabin' my log cabin being my office where I produce my blog posts, podcast episodes, social media posts etc. & it's a relaxing area as well.
Recently I changed my logo & brand name to 'The Spiritual Cabin' as 'Spiritual Quirky Creative Cabin' was a bit of a mouthful & especially as I don't do crafts as much 'Creative' needed to be removed.
I'm a post lady for Royal Mail which I have been doing for nearly 18 years, I was full-time when I started back in 2004, but as the job started to change as we became privatised, it has ruined Royal Mail a bit, & the job has become more stressful, & all the managers care about is getting the mail out regardless of if their staff can handle the workload or not. As now we are short staffed, the managers expect us to do 2 or 3 people's job, so, far too much work & people are going off with stress.
I work in Letchworth, Hertfordshire, East of England, 32 miles north of London.
My energy levels were draining & the job was getting me down. So in August 2018, I decided to go part-time at Royal Mail doing a 4-day week, 30 hours, instead of 39 hours 6 days a week. Another reason I wanted to go part-time was to concentrate more on my Spiritual Business, which is what I love to do in my time off & spare time, squeezing in seeing my mates & my mum & dad xx

My Podcasts are now going to be more about 'The Angels' & information about me (like this blog post) I get so passionate & excited about what I do, I'm too scattered with my topics & it's draining me, so I won't be talking about Astrology, for now, Tarot/Oracle cards may come later as slowly, I'm learning more about them, & hoping to do readings without the guidebook in the future, but for now it's all about the Angels (The Law Of Attraction may pop-up in there from time to time, as I think Angels, Law Of Attraction & manifesting are all kind of linked).
